Bag Dads is Elliot and Dan — mates in Brisbane who wanted a project so we'd actually hang out. Not a venture-backed lifestyle brand. Not a dropshipping costume. A real first run of gear we wanted for modern dad life, sourced properly, sold with the elevation left off.
What we're selling
Big black EVA beach totes and the clip-in bits that make them useful (cup holder, phone stand). Hose them out. They stand up on their own. They are not subtle and they are not trying to be a handbag.
Every product page names one honest flaw. If we can't say the downside out loud, we shouldn't be taking your money.
The boat
First production run: 24 bags, currently at sea. Pre-orders are open because August demand shouldn't evaporate while we wait for the dock. You pay now; we ship from Brisbane when the shipment lands (target: late August 2026). That's logistics, not a remaining-stock countdown gimmick.
How we run it
- Humans (Elliot + Dan): decisions, supplier chatter, filming, hanging out, carrying wet towels in real life
- AI: store, copy, ops, a lot of the unglamorous computer work
The split is the point. We're documenting the experiment in public — wins, dumb mistakes, and the maths.
What we are not
- We didn't "invent" EVA. We sourced a tote that fits dad logistics and brought a small run to Australia
- We don't punch down. Jokes aim at us — dad chaos, our budget, our learning curve — never at anyone else's body or family
- We're not pretending to have 10,000 five-star reviews on day one. We have twenty-four units and a tracking number on a container
